It's 2022, why are schools still segregated?

  After reading through the module and watching the videos, I believe that the reason schools are still segregated in 2022 is simply due to a lack of knowledge from society. Many people, myself included (until now), are unaware of the unconstitutional policies enacted by the government that set African Americans up for failure. An example of one of these policies would be the Federal Housing Administration which subsudized homes on the condition that they would only be sold to white families. Instances like these are harming society and our country as a whole. People need to learn about these things going on around us in order to make a change. If people are unaware of these issues then nothing can be put in place to make a positive difference. How Does Gender Affect The Teaching Profession?

  Gender has become a hot topic of discussion in today’s society. In the past, this really was not seen as a big topic however as of recently and the changing of times it’s become more relevant. There are many people who disagree with the LGBTQ rights movement and theres also a ton of people who support it and are allies. Either way, gender is important and it needs to be talked about in order to make a change in our education system.  Currently in Texas, the legislature is pushing for a law that will damage our trans youth. Greg Abbot has ordered for states to investigate the parents who are allowing their children gender-affirming surgeries for child abuse. This can really harm our youth because it can make them feel not wanted and not safe. I believe that this affects the teaching profession 100% because as teachers they are going to want us to report these things to parents when in reality we shouldn’t have to.
